Digital Printing

Samco Printers understands digital printing.

We entered the digital printing field in 1991, when we were the only downtown Vancouver printer that could print directly to a high speed production printer from a digital file. Trust your short-run and variable printing to an experienced printer who really understands digital printing. Professional digital printing quality can rival or exceed traditional offset printing, but only if all the colour management and equipment maintenance controls are in place. We write our own device and media profiles using the most up-to-date colour measurement tools.

A range of substrates and finishing materials

We offer a complete range of media, from matte, gloss and uncoated papers and cardstocks to metallics, various lamination products, gloss/matte effects and coatings. Our variable data printing capabilities are effective ways to produce plaques, ID cards, certificates and personalized mailers.

Environmentally Friendly Options

When you need to show that you care about the environment, there are bio-degradable, recycled, post-consumer waste and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified options available for substrates and materials.

Flexible Production Options

Our high speed production laser printers, large format ink jet systems and direct-to-press offset capabilities provide us with the flexibility we need to give you the best quality and most efficient digital print production methods to meet your time and budget constraints.

Tip

Don't be fooled by the common belief that digital printing is poorer quality than offset printing. The choice between digital and offset is most commonly based on economy of scale rather than quality, with smaller quantities typically more cost effective to print digitally. Sometimes the decision is based on the desired effect, some of which can only be produced on offset equipment and others on digital printing equipment. Poor digital quality is often the result of poorly maintained equipment (often a problem with cut-rate and "budget" print providers).
